Course Description
How to install OpenShift on a cloud, virtual or physical infrastructure.
In the Red Hat OpenShift Installation Lab (DO322) course, you will learn the skills necessary to install an OpenShift cluster in a variety of environments, from concept feasibility study to production. Additionally, you'll learn how to identify customizations that may be required based on the underlying infrastructure, whether cloud, physical, or virtual.
The course is based on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.6.
* The mentioned value does not include VAT
Summary of course content
- Validate the infrastructure prerequisites for an OpenShift cluster
- Run the OpenShift installer with custom settings
- Describe and monitor each stage of the OpenShift installation process
- Gather information on troubleshooting during an ongoing installation, or after a failed one
- Complete the configuration of cluster services on a newly installed one
Audience to which the course is directed
- Cluster administrators (junior systems and cloud administrators) who are interested in deploying additional clusters to meet increased demand in their business.
- Cluster engineers (senior systems and cloud administrators, cloud engineers) who are interested in planning and designing OpenShift clusters to meet the performance and reliability objectives of different workloads, and creating workbooks for these facilities.
- Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) who are interested in deploying clusters of test platforms to validate new configurations, updates, customizations, operating procedures, and incident responses.
Recommended training
- Accreditation is highly recommended. Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration in OpenShift 4, or at least having taken the course Red Hat OpenShift Administration II: Operating a Production Kubernetes Cluster (DO280) before this one.
- Having "equivalent Kubernetes knowledge" is not considered valid, as unless you need to do a comprehensive automated installation of OpenShift (very simple and with all defaults) on a cloud provider, you will need to have knowledge of Kubernetes cluster operators. OpenShift.
- Before taking the DO322 course, it is also recommended to obtain certification Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or have equivalent knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems administration.
Technological aspects that you should take into account
- For the DO322 course, a local instructor-led training (ILT) classroom is not offered. All modalities require access to cloud classrooms.
- This course uses cloud labs that are deployed on the Red Hat Training Cloud.
- Internet access is required for the installation tool to work properly.
Course content
Description of the OpenShift installation process
- Describe and compare the "end-to-end automation" and "legacy infrastructure" installation methods.
Installing OpenShift on a cloud provider
- Deploy OpenShift clusters to infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud providers, with common customizations, using the "end-to-end automation" approach.
Installing OpenShift in a virtualized environment
- Deploy OpenShift clusters on hypervisors, with common customizations, using the "end-to-end automation" and "legacy infrastructure" methods.
Planning to install OpenShift without an infrastructure provider
- Configure the prerequisites that are necessary to prepare OpenShift clusters without integration with the underlying infrastructure.
Installing OpenShift without an infrastructure provider
- Prepare OpenShift clusters without integration with the underlying infrastructure.
End of OpenShift installation without an infrastructure provider
- Before adding users and applications to a freshly prepared OpenShift cluster, perform the essential tasks that are required.
