Microsoft launches multidisciplinary scientific research initiative to fight climate change

The company brings together a global, multidisciplinary community of researchers and its Microsoft Research experts to work together to improve scientific research on climate change.
The use of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and cloud computing will be key in promoting scientific research to mitigate the effects of global warming.
Among the research projects is one from the University of Valencia and the University of Reading, which together with experts from Microsoft Research, seeks to develop Artificial Intelligence models that improve food security in Africa.

Nanfor complies with the Microsoft code of conduct, according to the following principles:

  • Maintain and promote fundamental human rights, and use the ILO “Indicators of Forced Labor” to identify instances of forced labor in your supply chain.
  • Prohibit use of child labor. You must adhere to the minimum employment age limit defined by applicable laws and regulations.
  • Require your subcontractors and suppliers to acknowledge and implement Microsoft's Supplier Code in their operations and across their supply chains.
  • Treat employees fairly, including with respect to wages, working hours and benefits. All labor practices must be consistent with applicable laws and industry standards.

Madrid City Council is committed to Cloud, Augmented Reality and Microsoft Artificial Intelligence to make the city more sustainable and improve citizen services

Microsoft collaborates in the digitalization of the Madrid town hall, within the plan to improve the urban economy promoted by its mayor, José Luis Martínez-Almeida.
This collaboration has already materialized in the implementation of a hybrid work model that has improved the collaboration and productivity of the more than 27,000 City Council officials.
The implementation of remote work solutions improves the environmental sustainability of the city of Madrid, with an annual saving of 7,092 tons of CO2 emissions, equivalent to 435 times the Royal Botanical Garden of the capital.
